Beat the heat this summer with very refreshing Indian Dessert from the state of Maharashtra. you will love the flavor of saffron and Cardamoms in it.
1 kg full cream curd/yoghurt
4-5 green cardamoms
Sugar as per taste
Kesar (saffron) as per taste
Kessar (saffron), Slivered dry fruits for garnishing
1. Hang the curd/yoghurt for 6-7 hrs or may be overnight. Then beat the curd with electric beater till it becomes smooth and creamy.
2. Now powder the cardamom with mortar an pestle well. Discard the outer covering. Add the cardamom powder to the curds. Now add the powdered sugar as per taste and mix well.
3. At the end add the mix the saffron into little water and crush it and then add it in the curd. Garnish the shrikhand with Kesar (saffron) or dry fruits. If you want you can add slivered pistachios or almonds too. Refrigerate before serving. Enjoy!!!
